Make sure only to use the mortar with dry spices in and avoid grinding metal against metal. Maintenance Keep it away from moisture and steam. Store in a dry area and keep it out of direct sunlight. If used for salt, clean thoroughly after usage to avoid rust. The mortar can be rubbed with some cooking oil after cleaning. Dont use metal utensils.
